Education Programs
As a leader in the Eugene arts and culture community, the Hult Center provides students with access to the arts through free student matinees, workshops, masterclasses, Q&As, and more!
STUDENT MATINEES
Each season, the Hult Center programs free student matinees for students of all grades. In addition to seeing a show, students often have the chance to attend a post-show talk back or Q&A session with the artists. These post-show opportunities, along with study guides, allow the students to gain a holistic understanding of the performance and how it integrates into their studies and life.

Into the Canyon: Between River and Rim
Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 11:00 am

Into the Canyon: Between River and Rim and is a part of our ongoing Changemakers series. This specific installment features changemakers Pete McBride – an award-winning writer, photographer, and filmmaker and Kevin Ferdarko – an adventure writer and the author of the critically acclaimed The Emerald Mile – the true story of the “fastest ride in history down the Colorado River, through the Grand Canyon.”Â
Into The Canyon, is an epic quest, on foot, through the entire length of the Grand Canyon—not “rim to rim” as has been tackled by many—but 750 miles “end to end.” More people have walked on the moon than have completed this treacherous journey! Hiking over 100 days, Pete and Kevin traversed mostly along the goat trail, through slot canyons, blinding sun, and snow. Their expedition sheds light on the health and future of this national treasure and invites us to contemplate the value of wild spaces.Â
This talk is part of the Vital Impacts Student Speaker Series, presented in collaboration with Changemaker Talent. These compelling talks blend storytelling with award-winning imagery to bring to life the biodiversity crisis and the people and programs working toward a sustainable future.
Note: This show is geared towards 5th -12th grade

Applications for our Spring Marketing Internship are now closed.
Internship Requirements:

Part-time internships (5-10 hours per week) require a minimum commitment of ten weeks by intern candidates. Pending the needs of individual departments, flexibility in daily or weekly work scheduling may be required and some work in the evenings and weekends may be necessary.Â
Internships opportunities include rotation of experience in Education & Community Engagement, Marketing, and Arts Administration.  Â
You can still visit our Program Summary Page for information on specific internships, as well as contact information.
WORKSHOPS
Each season through our Hult Presents program, the Hult Center works with professional artists to provide workshops for community members of all ages. Workshops are usually free, or a minimal registration fee, and allow students to work directly with professional artists, exploring their craft in an interactive way.
Our latest workshop (pictured to the right), was a Vocal workshop with Les Misérables and hosted at Pegasus Playhouse.
Be sure to visit this page to learn about future scheduled workshops or sign up to receive our quarterly newsletter showcasing all upcoming opportunities.
MASTER CLASSES

Our latest masterclass (pictured to the right), was at the University of Oregon Dance Department led by Donald Byrd, the Artistic Director of Spectrum Dance Theatre.
